disabled blue badge logoThe Heart of Hawick complex has been designed with disabled access in mind.

Features include:

  • Lift access to all floors
  • Power doors into and out of the café using the main door doors
  • Toilets on all floors, including toilets for people with disabilities
  • Front row of auditorium, used for cinema and live events, all removable in pairs (14 seats in total)
  • Induction loop built into auditorium, plus we have a portable induction loop
  • Café and all corridors are very wide and have lots of turning space
  • Lift has a handrail, visual and voice announcements, and has a hearing loop installed on the emergency phone
  • The glass floor, glass terrace and glass balconies are level access with no tripping hazards
  • Access between Tower Mill and Heritage Hub is level, with low kerbs, no tripping hazards and raised road surfaces
  • Parking areas are not compete, but will have at least three, and possibly a lot more, spaces for blue badge holders
