Judges' comments
This entry is a remarkable achievement of professionalism, passion and perseverance in the creation of a 'Heritage Hub'. We were extremely impressed with the management of this financially complex and technically-demanding regeneration initiative. It is an excellent example of proactive community engagement, effective partnership working and strong project management to realise a social, cultural and economic regeneration benefiting Hawick and beyond.
Overall, we consider that this is an innovative regeneration and conservation project which demonstrates the Council's commitment to improving the quality of life in the Scottish Borders, through not only the provision of new cultural facilities but as a positive focus for the High Street of Hawick.
