Finding What You Want

This page gives you links to our pages that provide you with information on the historical information and collections we hold.  They will also provide you with some interpretation to these resources to help you find what you want whether you are doing family history or a teacher planning classroom work.

Catalogue

Information on descriptions, dates and types of records held in our historical archive collections.

Local Studies Library Collection

We hold a small supporting library of books on Local and Family History.  This is held on loan from Scottish Borders Library Service and managed jointly with them. Follow this link through to the searchable library catalogue for all local studies books in all libraries and the Heritage Hub.

Source Sheets and Research Guides

We have a number of source sheets listing what we hold in the collections for certain subjects and a number of guides to get you started on your research.

Education Packs

Our education packs are created to support the Curriculum for Excellence and draw on archival resources to aid teaching in the classroom. All packs include worksheets and teachers’ notes and are available to download free of charge
