Getting Here

Heart of Hawick campus is located at Kirkstile on the west end of the Hawick High Street. Hawick is situated on the A7 which runs from Edinburgh to Carlisle.

 

 

By car - from the south-west:


 Follow the A7 into Hawick
 Turn right at the first roundabout on to 'Tower Knowe'
 Follow 'Tower Knowe' for about 100 metres uphill, past the 'High Street' - the road becomes 'Tower Dykeside'.
 Kirkstile - and the entrance to Heritage Hub - is on your right.

 

By car - from the north: 


 Follow the A7 into Hawick, past the Police Station (on your right), and Teviotdale Leisure Centre (on your left)
 At the roundabout turn right (3rd exit) - along Commercial Road, which is also part of the A7
 Follow Commercial Road as it becomes Albert Place, and crosses a bridge
 At the roundabout, go straight on (1st exit)
 Follow 'Tower Knowe' for about 100 metres uphill, past the 'High Street' - the road becomes 'Tower Dykeside'.
 Kirkstile - and the entrance to Heritage Hub - is on your right.

 

By car - from the south-east:


 From the A68, just after the border - take the A6088 on your left.
 Turn left on to the A698 - and into Hawick
 Continue straight on at the roundabout (2nd exit), onto Bourntree Place, and then onto the High Street
 At the end of the High Street, turn left onto 'Tower Dykeside'
 Kirkstile - and the entrance to Heritage Hub - is on your right.

 

Parking


There is a small car park in the Civic Space for disabled blue badge holders only. However this area may be unavailable on occasion as it is used for events.  Free car parking is available in the Common Haugh, the largest car park in the Borders. It is signposted from the A7 and is a short 5 minute walk from the Heart of Hawick campus.

 

Public transport


The X95 (and 95) bus service runs from Edinburgh to Carlisle. The Borders Railway is now open, running from Edinburgh to Tweedbank; for Hawick, alight at Galasheils and take The X95 (and 95).
